so i’m participating again this year in the 30 day blogrimage, yay!
already tonight i have waited until the last minute and not exactly starting off on the right foot.
i must be brief because i must sleep for a big day tomorrow.
i am simply going to read a scripture, whether it’s one verse or a whole chapter and sharing reflections, thoughts and challenges for the next 30 days.
i’ve been doing this thing lately where i listen to the scripture on my itunes while following along with the same version and reading on biblegateway.com. supposedly we retain more by listening and reading!
so real quick tonight! the scripture of the day on biblegateway.com is:
“then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”” – Acts 4:10,12
the last part really stands out to me as a bold and strong statement!
at work the other day i learned that one of my 24 year old peers had never step foot in a church other than to go to a funeral. i was shocked! it started a conversation among 12 people that ended with one person concluding that religion no matter what it is doesn’t make sense and that’s just the way it is. and so everyone went back to work.
i realize these 12 people represent A LOT of people and their thoughts on religion, let alone Christianity. i realized with a heavy heart that i’m exactly where i should be…….among those in my generation that have never step foot in a church service nor have a desire to pursue truth because everything has seemed to fail and leads to nowhere.
this church girl (me) has a lot of work to do.
i wish and pray for my peers that they would find salvation in Christ for as the scripture says, there’s no other name, god, idea, or religion that will bring true salvation.
blessings!
